　　總起來說，雅思有別于TOEFL、CET4、CET6等其他考試，需要掌握的單詞很難量化，IELTS考試聽力部分選用的文章都來自英語國家的日常生活，因此并沒有絕對的詞匯數字，盡管沒有絕對的單詞總數設定，但單詞量絕對不是最大的問題，只要掌握3000個關鍵詞匯，就可以應對考卷的大部分內容。不過對于這3000個詞匯的掌握，不僅僅是聽說讀寫，更重要的是知道如何去掌握和使用它們(activewords)，熟練掌握3000個詞匯可能比簡單背誦10000個單詞更有用。
