排雷-你的雅思口語是否能再洋氣一些？

 

不知道有多少考生會這樣回答考官的問題：

Q:

Why do you want to take a bus?

 

A:

It's convenient； 

 

 

 

Q:

Why do you like living in a city?

 

A:

It's convenient. 

 

 

諸如此類的還有：

Why do you like your home?

It's comfortable；

 

Why do you like the pair of shoes?

They are comfortable；

 

Why do you always stay in your room?

It's comfortable.

……

相信不用我多說，考生們自己也能夠感受到，對于這種回答，考官一定能夠聽得懂，但是總給人的感覺就是差點(diǎn)意思，或者更甚點(diǎn)說，有點(diǎn)土。

其實(shí)convenient 和comfortable本身都是不錯的詞語，但是反復(fù)的使用總給人一種非常廉價(jià)的感覺，接下來我們就分析分析。

 

Convenient

其實(shí)方便無非就是省時(shí)間，省精力，所以從這個(gè)角度出發(fā)，我們完全可以用labour-saving 來替換，舉個(gè)例子：

Why do you like living in a city? 

Well, how can I put it, you know, it's quite time-saving. Well, this is due to the fact that probably my home could be a stone's throw away from a subway station or whatever. To be specific, normally 5 minutes' walk can take me there. So really, city life is my cup of tea.

額，挺省時(shí)間的吧。因?yàn)槲壹铱赡茈x地鐵站之類的就很近，確切說通常5分鐘就到了。講真，還蠻喜歡城市生活的。

 

Interesting

看書interesting，電視interesting，上課interesting，然后考官覺得你這孩子一點(diǎn)都不interesting....那咋辦？建議換成intriguing 有趣的，如intriguing books, intriguing movie, intriguing class....

 

Good

Good本身無罪，但是每次很多學(xué)生一說到這個(gè)詞感覺沒臉見人。那怎么辦呢？其實(shí)有一個(gè)很常見的方法，組合詞法，比如good-temper，good-humoured，舉個(gè)例子；The teacher has a good temper. 換成 a good-tempered teacher;  The boy has a good humour. 換成：a good-humoured boy. 顯然會比單純使用good要好太多了。
